Bringing environmental solutions closer to companies, our great challenge.
Practically all productive activities have an impact on the environment, which is where the commitment of organizations and individuals to build circular economy models is increasingly important, through which together we can compensate for these impacts on the ecosystem and become an environmentally sustainable society.
Companies are increasingly interested in aligning their strategies with environmental commitments because the market is crying out for commitments and sustainable production methods. This is where it becomes essential to measure the impacts of the different processes, define the relevant environmental indicators for each company and, from there, define the action plan and environmental goals.
First we propose to measure the environmental impact, this can be done by measuring the carbon footprint and/or the life cycle analysis of the products or services offered by each organization. For this there are international standards such as the GHG Protocol, ISO 14000, ISO 14040, ISO 14064, among others.
Once the measurements have been taken, the action plan continues, which refers to initiating production efficiency and emissions mitigation plans to make the processes more environmentally friendly. Once these activities have been implemented, there is a remainder of emissions that must be compensated to meet environmental goals, and for this there are different alternatives, such as the purchase of carbon certificates (it is important to review their origin); mitigation projects (it is vital to review their permanence, support and environmental measurements); companies’ own plans to capitalize on the carbon capture that is part of their production models and compensate for the emissions that are missing by strengthening the associated environmental projects.
The last phase of implementation of an environmental sustainability project is to invite. Having environmentally sustainable products or brands produces an interesting effect and that is to maintain the value achieved within the production chain, i.e. to include the commitment of suppliers and customers to maintain the benefits achieved and strengthen them, This means ensuring that upstream agents in the production chain deliver raw materials in such a way that their processes are also committed to environmental sustainability and training and motivating consumers or agents that use the products offered to maintain their commitment to give products and services an environmentally sustainable use, ensuring that the entire chain is balanced and that consumption is responsible and aligned with the efforts that have been made so that all the agents involved guarantee the proper use of the different products.
