At Preserva, we are united by a common goal: our commitment to the environment. We dream of building a better future for our children and generations to come. We are driven by a passion for promoting environmental restoration, conservation and preservation projects that serve as a bridge for sustainable companies and brands to generate a long-term impact on the different ecosystemic environments that surround us.

We are on the side of action with a team that thoroughly understands the environmental legal issue, actively promoting forest management and regeneration, and originating mechanisms for the achievement of environmental compensation projects focused on the protection and restoration of native forests, water sources and biodiversity.

Santiago Quintana – Founder and Manager

Passionate about entrepreneurship and new projects, he grew up in contact with the Colombian countryside dreaming of living to give value to rural products and nature. His spirit as a manager and promoter has led him through a challenging career building and leading companies in B2B service sectors. In 2019 he decided to take action for the protection and reconstruction of the environment by creating Preserva. He is a person who lives for his family and wants his daughter to learn the importance of believing and fighting for her dreams, to be proud that her father is a forester.

Ricardo Umaña – Partner, Expert in Forest Management and Sustainable Management of Natural Resources

His managerial experience in top-level positions in local, regional and multinational companies, as well as his participation in boards of directors in the private and union sectors, has allowed him to successfully assume managerial roles in a wide range of businesses.

His interest in the environment comes from his experience in natural resource management, with which he was involved both in the technical and sustainable management of natural forests, as well as in the establishment of integrated systems involving not only the biological field but also the social aspect for sustainable timber production. As a Coach he is able to support the development of both individuals and high performance teams, which he does through his link as Endeavor Mentor.

Miguel Rodríguez – Partner, Expert in Environmental Impact Projects

Being a biologist with a master’s degree in science, teacher, consultant and manager of several companies and institutions of national and international renown within the forestry sector, Miguel’s life has always revolved around forests. His professional career of more than 40 years has been focused on the environment and he has extensive experience in the design, assembly, operation and control of forest and animal production systems, the design and implementation of animal and forest population studies, as well as in the structuring, direction and implementation of research in plant and animal physiology (including nutrition, reproduction, growth, yield and productivity, genetic improvement and mathematical modeling).

He is an expert in the planning and design of environmental impact studies and environmental management plans for industrial and agro-industrial production processes, as well as in environmental auditing and in the design, implementation, monitoring and quantification of forestry projects based on CDM, CCX and other standards. With all his experience and knowledge, Miguel continues working and searching for sustainable solutions to protect, rebuild and care for the environment.

Mónica Lozano – Partner, Legal Expert (Intangibles)

Her experience of more than twenty-five years as a lawyer specializing in the protection of intangible assets has allowed her to advise companies and individuals in the protection of trademarks, patents, copyrights and in general creations of the human intellect. Protecting the results of human ingenuity is a fundamental part of her work and being able to protect forests, water and in general the environment and biodiversity is her dream.

His performance as a lecturer on arbitration and industrial property issues for the Arbitration and Conciliation Center of the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce, and his experience as an arbitrator for said center have allowed him to contribute to the strengthening of alternative means for the resolution of conflicts in the country.

Liliana Villamizar – Partner, Legal Expert (Corporations, Contracts, Negotiation)

Lawyer from Universidad del Rosario specialized in Tax Law. She studied the American legal system at George Washington University. She is an expert in corporate management (restructuring, shareholder relations, evaluation of corporate governance situations in administrative bodies), negotiation of contracts and legal-business relations (with emphasis on crisis situations that end in transactional agreements), foreign exchange regime and international investments.

Among his professional functions are representation in Shareholders’ Meetings, member of Boards of Directors, attention in Arbitration Courts in corporate and contractual matters, and assistance in legal matters to the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) project of the National Federation of Palm Growers, which has given him ample experience navigating the environmental issue.

Iván Mejía – Partner, Expert in Communications and Marketing Strategies

He is an expert in content creation, brand positioning and communication strategy design. His experience has made him a leader, giving value and strategy to advertising, with out-of-the-box creativity. Partner and creator at Dirty Kitchen, he is a driver of the orange economy, working with communities and building sustainable models.

José Vicente Mogollón – Partner, Expert in Business Strategies, Technology and Startups

Innovative business models, impact, and economic development are José Vicente’s passions. He has been an entrepreneur of a technology company, and before that he worked as a consultant at The Cluster Competitiveness Group, where he did several projects in Mexico, Colombia and Ecuador to help companies in different sectors to improve their competitiveness. José Vicente also worked at the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism, as a negotiator of Free Trade Agreements.

In 2005 she did her undergraduate degree in International Business at The George Washington University (GWU) in the USA, and in 2012 she finished her MBA from ESADE Business School in Barcelona, Spain. He is part of the Board of Directors of a company that has a commercial reforestation project in Córdoba (REFOPAL), and wants to leave his daughter Lucía a better world.
